Fox Point Update: September 2026 Edition

  • On August 28, 2026

President’s Letter

By Andrew Schwarz | Email

It’s been wonderful to see so much summer fun across the neighborhood.

Nothing signals the imminent return to fall like sending the kids back to school.  Good luck to all our Fox Point students this year, from kindergarten to high school!

Fall is my favorite season in our region, and it’s also only a matter of weeks before the hundreds of mature trees in our neighborhood start to show their lovely autumn foliage. Speaking of transition, the year continues to fly by and the Board has already begun to think through initiatives and plans for 2027.  Looking ahead for the balance of the year, in preparation for next year, we’ll conduct a search for new Board members and undertake the annual budgeting process.

We welcome your attendance at an upcoming Board meeting; Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 21 2026 at 7pm at the Village Church.

Treasurer Report

By Susan Lunt | Email

Thank you to the Social Chair and all those that take on the extra work and put in the time to plan and execute our awesome neighborhood events. We appreciate you! Please remember to submit any expense reimbursement requests with your receipts with a Reimbursement Request Form for more efficient tracking.

Additionally, we will begin the budgeting process for 2027 and beyond. As in years past, the treasurer will be working with the board members and the finance committee to build a comprehensive plan that meets the HOA’s fiscal goals and allows our community to thrive. I will keep the neighborhood informed as the process moves along during the fourth quarter.

Common Grounds Report

By Jason Ehlert | Email

Happy Fall, Fox Point! The Common Grounds team has two quick updates for the neighborhood:

  • Entrance Beautification: We are installing vibrant autumn mums at our neighborhood entrances to give the community a fresh, seasonal welcome.
  • Lake Cook Road Restoration: We are currently gathering vendor quotes to restore and enhance the common landscape area along Lake Cook Road. We’ll share more details as plans are finalized.

Thank you for helping us keep Fox Point looking its best!

Architecture Report

By Joann Lee | Email

Hey and Associates has submitted the seawall plans for permitting, which is expected to take approximately two months. They are working on the final bid requests as well.  We are still hopeful that the project can be completed this year.

Thank you to everyone who took time and kindly notified their neighbors about their planned projects and submitted signatures. That’s what being a good neighbor is all about!

Safety and Welfare Report

By Greg Salter | Email

Happy new school year to all!

With classes back in session and many of our students walking and biking to school, student safety is a top priority. As a quick but important reminder: vehicle pick-up and drop-off are strictly prohibited on Oak Ridge Circle before and after school.

Please note that this Village of Barrington ordinance applies to the entirety of Oak Ridge Circle, rather than just the immediate area between the posted street signs.

To help keep the streets safe for all our kids, I highly encourage you to share this reminder with any fellow Lines and Station families who may not live within Fox Point but travel through our neighborhood.

Lake Report

By Steve Kipferl | Email

Hello neighbors,

Lake season is winding down and fall is coming. Please remember to keep boats on the rack organized headed into the offseason. If you are still looking for a boat slot, please contact the lake committee at lake@foxpoint.org

The lake clarity and water quality had a rough month of July due to the extremely hot temps resulting in lake temps rising and algae blooming once the water hit the mid 80s..

Discussion on lake management is always ongoing between the maintenance vendors and lake committee. If you have questions or concerns, the meeting is a great chance to discuss at length. See below for details.

With the cooler temps we are seeing a rebound in water quality and a decrease in weed growth. This should continue into the fall.

If you would like to join the lake committee, we meet online on the second Monday of each month. Email lake@foxpoint.org for details. All are welcome so please tune in. We discuss all future plans and current issues regarding the lake. Hope to see you there!

Tennis Report

By Jordan Linville | Email

Our Pickleball Tournament championship is set. Cheryl Laurence & Nick Felts VS Kathy Krucek & Howie Bushnell! If you’d like to know when this epic battle of good vs evil (in no particular order) takes place, then sign up for the Fox Point Tennis & Pickleball newsletter.

Thank you to everyone who took part in kids classes, adult classes, tournaments, and open play this summer. We might try to throw a Pickleball social in before the cold weather comes in. Stay tuned.
