Fox Point Update: March 2026 Edition
- On February 26, 2026
President’s Letter

One of the best things about Fox Point is that, in many ways, our neighborhood comes alive even during cold months. Throughout February, it was a wonderful sight to see neighbors clearing ice rinks on Lake Louise or enjoying the cold serenity of our neighborhood while on a stroll. Please remember, though, that our streets can be very dark after sunset so please walk with lights and/or reflective clothing. Safety first!
Weather aside, there is a lot to look forward to coming up around the neighborhood. We’ll host our annual card party at Makray on Friday, March 6th, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 4th. Kudos to our committees and volunteers for putting on these wonderful events – they happen because of the generosity of neighbors who volunteer their time to bring them to life. Thank you!
Wishing everyone health and happiness – and to my Illini, hopefully a deep run in the upcoming NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
Our next Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2026, at 7 PM at the Village Church. As always, we welcome ideas, suggestions, and feedback as we all have a vested interest in our community.

Additional Communication Methods
I would like to highlight two other methods of communication for Social: the social email distribution list and Instagram. If you are interested in joining the email list, please email social@foxpoint.org to opt in – and please follow @foxpoint_barrington on Instagram. Please DM me on Instagram when you request to follow (especially if your handle does not make it obvious who you are) as it is a private account and I will only accept Fox Point residents.
Fox Point Merch
It’s cold out there! Need a new sweatshirt? We have partnered with The Imprintery for Fox Point spiritwear. There is no deadline for ordering spiritware and you can place your order at any time for delivery or free local pickup at their location in town. As spring slowly approaches, please plan ahead and submit applications early for any exterior work you are considering.
When submitting your application, please include all required signatures, if possible, on a single form, this is the form, and combine all supporting documents and renderings into one PDF file to help facilitate the review process.
Please note that applications are reviewed and voted on by the entire FP Board, not solely by the Architecture Chair.
Lake Report
By Steve Kipferl | Email
Hello neighbors! As the weather warms up, we eagerly anticipate another exciting year on the lake. The lake remains healthy, and the wildlife is waking up, both due to the warmer weather and the cleaner water.
Over the past few years, we’ve stocked bass, crappie, bluegill, northern Pike, catfish, and perch—all species that are thriving in the lake and being caught by anglers. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to drop a line!
The lake committee will continue to prioritize improving water quality by increasing natural submerged vegetation and maintaining ongoing chemical maintenance. We have several upcoming projects focused on water quality improvement and are always seeking volunteers to lead special projects or contribute new ideas. If you’re interested, please contact me at lake@foxpoint.org.
As spring approaches, please be mindful of lawn clippings, leaf-blowing debris, and other waste. Keep these materials away from the lake whenever possible. When fertilizing, consider using environmentally friendly fertilizer to minimize chemical runoff. If you live on the lake, consider planting native vegetation along the shoreline, which acts as an excellent filtration mechanism for runoff water and provides habitat for our animal friends.
Please consider protecting any trees and shrubs along the shoreline as the weather warms. Beaver activity has been high in recent years. Damage to trees has been documented. Beavers are present at times in the lake, but beaver activity from the Cuba marsh is also occurring. As a reminder, the HOA is not responsible for any damage from wildlife, beaver, or other animals for any reason. Recommended protection for trees can be found online. An example is linked HERE.
Additionally, remember to inspect your boats before putting them back in the water. Ensure that your plugs are securely in place and any damage is repaired before use.
The lake committee meeting will be held on the second Monday of every month via Google Meet.

Pool Report
By Adam Clementi | Email
Although we only just passed the official halfway point of winter, we are already hard at work preparing for pool season this summer!
We are currently revamping our Omnify system to improve ease of use and enhance overall service for our residents. In addition, we’re scheduling minor repairs, coordinating spring clean-up, and scheduling preseason pool maintenance to ensure everything is in top shape.
All of this preparation is focused on being fully ready for opening day on May 23rd. We’re looking forward to another great season at the pool!
