Fox Point Update: May 2025 Edition
- On April 30, 2025
President’s Letter
By Jeana Garms | Email
As promised, April was a busy month. One more big thank you to Kate Feit and the planning committee for this year’s Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was gorgeous and it was fantastic to see so many children enjoying the new playground equipment (my own boys included).
The hard work of the Board members and supporting committees continues into May. Preparations are underway for opening the pool, a number of events are well into planning for the coming months (be sure to check out the committee sign up if there is an event near and dear to your heart you are interested in running), and tennis and pickleball are back in action. It’s poised to be a great Summer!

Lake Report

Last chance to retain your boat rack spot for 2025
Thank you to the many who have emailed already. To those who have not, please email lake@foxpoint.org your name and spot number and a brief description of your boat. Fees will be assessed and sent out via email later in the spring.
The lake has been stocked this month with 150 large mouth bass and 300 crappie. Fishing has been good so come down to the lake! Small spinner baits are working well and bass fishing has been active.

Carp removal will be conducted by the Lake County Health Department this spring as part of a multiyear carp mitigation project. Last year 4,800 lbs of carp were removed with an estimated 10,000 lbs remaining. Carp removal will provide data for the health department to further study carp populations in lake county. This project represents a substantial cost savings to the Association and up to a 65% cost savings vs budget.
Other spring wildlife control measures have been completed as well on the lake.
Ongoing water management continues this spring and summer. The lake committee is looking for volunteers on the water to run power for the small fountain in the south side pond and a few aerators on the point area. If you have an outlet near the water that can be used for aeration, please contact lake@foxpoint.org. The HOA is willing to work with homeowners on the cost to power the aeration possibly as well.
Lake committee meeting will be held again on the second Monday of the month via Google Meet.

Pool Report
By Criss Chang | Email
Pool season is finally here. Opening day, on May 24th is just weeks away. You will see more activity at the pool as the blue awnings go up and the pool gets filled. In the days before we open, on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, please login to your Omnify account and ensure your family information is up to date. Our pool safety and security is dependent on having Fox Point residents verified upon check in at the front desk.
Chicagoland Pool Management is still accepting a few more applications for lifeguard positions for this summer. The front desk positions are full though, but applications will be accepted. You can go to https://www.chicagoland-pmg.com/lifeguard-jobs to apply.
Omnify is the online service that we use to register Fox Point residents for access to our pool. Through this app, you can reserve an awning to host your party, pay for your guest attendees and sign up for swim lessons. All family household members and family members not in the household should be entered on your family profile. All attendees not listed on your Omnify profile can be charged to you as a fee paying guest. Guest fees are $5 per person, intended for friends residing outside of Fox Point, and will be billable to you by email. Please check your profile at foxpoint.getomnify.com.
Please read the pool rules and understand the conduct that is expected by residents and their guests. The rules and policies in place last year will carry forward to this year, which includes a 10-minute safety break each hour where the pool must be cleared for all swimmers, adults and children included. See the full list of rules here: Fox Point Pool Rules
