President’s Letter
By Bill Graff | Email
I am happy to report that our board continues to work toward keeping Fox Point the premier neighborhood in 60010! With work being done on keeping our assets in good condition, while seeking vendors who will do well by these projects, we continue to all work toward excellence! Beyond the work that the board is doing, is the volunteer force helping us with our lake, social, and pool activities. Many of these volunteers offer good insights and analysis to keep FP running well! Of note, be sure to look at the pool survey for 2024 and beyond in Criss Chang’s report. Participation is important with these tools/surveys to keep the right energy around this valuable asset. Enjoy the rest of the fall!

Fox Point – We need you! Committee needed for Santa Visits
The leaves are starting to fall which means Christmas is right around the corner. To continue our Fox Point Santa tradition, we are in need of 1-2 people to help plan this year’s Santa Visits.
Additionally, we have one set of Santa and Mrs. Claus and ideally would like to and another set, at least another Santa, so we can increase the number of visit opportunities.
If you’re interested in leading the Santa Visits committee or playing Santa/Mrs. Claus, please email social@foxpoint.org ASAP!
2025 Committee Sign-ups
Keep your eyes peeled for the November newsletter when we will open sign-up for the 2025 Social Committee.
First up will be the Card Party. While many members of our 2024 committee are returning, we are looking for one to two people to join them and prepare to take over planning in 2026. If you are interested, feel free to send an email to social@foxpoint.org.

Common Grounds

I am happy to report that the Lake Cook Road fence replacement project has been approved by the HOA. We will begin replacing the fence in the spring of 2025. Homeowners that live on the property line of the fence please be on the lookout for instructions for this replacement. I appreciate all the work from the neighbors that helped out with this project.
As the season begins to wind down for common grounds, I’m planning to build projects into next year’s budget. This will include more maintenance on the cul-de-sacs and landscaping enhancements around the pool. As always, please email me with any questions or feedback. Thanks!

Enclosed are some updates related to the Seawall project and a reminder on the HOA Architectural Approval process.
Our planned steel seawall at the Boat Landings area is in the midst of the permitting process. Both the IDNR and Army Corps have approved our plans, but Lake County and the Village have final governing authority. The Board seeks to install the seawall at the highest possible elevation given all available and discernable data. At this point, according to our vendor, our target installation is on track for prior to Thanksgiving.
Please remember that all exterior alteration projects must flow to the HOA Board for review and approval. Refreshed Architectural and Good Neighbor Guidelines are planned for release before the end of the year.
Wishing everyone a nice start to the fall season.
Safety and Welfare Report

With the sun setting earlier and earlier, I wanted to remind everyone that it can be really, really difficult for drivers to see you if you are walking in the dark or at dusk. When you are enjoying these abnormally warm fall temperatures with an evening walk or run, please stay safe by wearing reflective clothing and using blinking lights or flashlights to help get the attention of people driving through the neighborhood. If you are unsure that an approaching vehicle sees you, please do not hesitate to step up into the grass or onto a driveway to get off the street if needed for your own safety.
Lake Report

Last call to claim -or- get rid of your boats! Thanks to those who registered boats with the lake committee. For those still looking to claim a spot please email Lake@foxpoint.org. Any boats unregistered or unclaimed will be removed October 15th or later. A dumpster will be on site for a few days if you would like to dispose of a boat.
Schools of baby fish are splashing along the shoreline eating all the remaining late summer vegetation. These are all the juvenile fish, of different species, growing and thriving! This is a fantastic sign for lake health and the future fish population. Fishing has been great this year on the lake with both panfish, several species of bass, and a few small northern pike.
Water clarity is increasing nicely as the temperatures cool down from a very warm summer.
Lake Committee meetings are held the second Monday of the month on Google Meet. Please drop in if you would like to know more about the lake and hear about ongoing projects.

Congrats to the teams that made it to the final four! The semi-finals will be played back-to-back Saturday, October 12. Time to be determined. Please come out and watch these picklers vie for first place.

Please continue to enjoy the tennis and pickleball courts into the fall! The nets will stay up until late October/early November depending on the weather. I will make an announcement via Instagram and Nextdoor when they are coming down.
A few court reminders:
- There is currently no reservation system for the tennis and pickleball courts. Please limit play to one hour if others are waiting.
- No bicycles, scooters, roller blades, skateboards, etc. are allowed on the courts.
