We have successfully completed the rebuilding of the tennis court complex after a slight delay due to the weather. The new complex looks awesome and we are getting some great feedback from our local Fox Point tennis players. I want to thank Christine Mickey for all of her hard work in making sure the project was done correctly and on budget. Excellent job!!! I also want to remind everyone that we need to make sure that smaller kids (or anyone for that matter) do not bring bikes, scooters, or any kid toys on to the tennis courts as they will damage the courts and the new paint. It is all of our responsibility to monitor and police our neighborhood!! Please if you notice that someone is on the courts with a bike, toy, scooter, or anything that does not belong on that court, please ask them to remove the item from the court. We want this beautiful Fox Point asset to last for the next 30 years.
DRIVING in Fox Point………
Please I again reach out to all neighbors to remind you and your families to drive slowly, slowly, slowly when moving throughout Fox Point. We have hundreds of children at play throughout Fox Point and equal to that in walkers & bike riders each day and it is extremely important that each of us tries to keep as close to 20 MPH as possible as we travel throughout the neighborhood. I know the actual speed limit is slightly more than that but I would ask everyone to try to keep to 20 MPH when driving. The 5 seconds you might save in your travels are not worth the potential harm it might cause a young child that might dart out into the street in error. I would also ask you to remind all drivers within your family as it is summer time and many of us have college students now home for the summer. We want to make sure that all Fox Point drivers understand the need to drive safe and slow.
Welcome to all of the new neighbors that have recently moved into Fox Point. There have been a number of homes that have sold in the past few months and an even larger number within the last year to two years. It is great to see all of the new faces and young kids. Please take advantage of our great neighborhood, get involved, or simply take a walk around the lake and meet your neighbors.
If you have any questions regarding Fox Point, please reach out to anyone of the board members but visiting foxpoint.org/association-information/

The new Fox Point Tennis Courts are done and playable! We had some construction delays in June due to several rainy weeks but the courts are now completed! Tennis lessons run through First Serve management company were temporarily moved to the Grove Country Club in Long Grove until our courts were done. We are happy to say that tennis lessons began on the new Fox Point courts on June 27th.
Please be courteous of our Fox Point tennis neighbors and do not use the backboard before 9:00 AM or after 9:00 PM on any day of the week. Please respect this new rule so we can all enjoy our new tennis courts!
If you haven’t done so already please sign up for Session 2 of tennis classes at Fox Point which begin the week of July 16th and run through the week of August 13 (no classes the week of July 4). This summer we are offering morning and evening cardio tennis classes for adults, as well as lessons for kids ages 4 and up and adult tennis lessons for all levels. Private lessons are also available with the First Serve Pros.
The tennis registration form, information sheet and class schedules for children and adults for both sessions can be found here https://foxpointorg.wpengine.com/fox-point-tennis-courts/. If you are still interested in registering for tennis at Fox Point this summer please complete the registration form and drop it off to Christine Mickey.
Please mark your calendars for July 21, 2018 for the adult Fox Point Tennis Party Cocktails by the Courts. This event is open to tennis players and non-tennis players to showcase our new tennis courts and socialize with your Fox Point Neighbors.

Also, save the dates for the new Fox Point Round Robin Match Play on Friday nights. The scheduled dates are July 13, July 27 and August 17. Get a baby-sitter and BYOB to the courts for some fun tennis mixers. The RSVP link and information will go out via Next-door the week of the Round Robins. All levels welcome.
Save The Date – September 14, 2018 for the annual Fox Point vs. Biltmore tennis match and dinner party. This was a big hit last summer and we can’t wait to continue this tradition in 2018! More details to follow.
We are excited about a great tennis summer at Fox Point on our new tennis courts!
Common Grounds
By Jay Roberts | Email
With summer now here, many of my current projects are now in full swing!
As of a couple of weeks ago, you may have noticed some replacement trees going in throughout Fox Point. This project is being led by the village. I’m working with the them to see where this project currently stands and what might be left to plant. These trees are for the common parkway areas mostly along the neighborhood streets and have replaced the ash trees that we lost a couple of years ago.
Speaking of trees, there are several dead pines over by the new tennis courts that need to be addressed. In addition, there are a couple of others in that same area that looked stressed and may need to be removed as well. I’m currently considering our options for removal and replacement so that area may continue to compliment the new courts that are were just put in.
The landscapers continue to do a good job with the weekly maintenance. It’s been a challenge thus far with all the rain but I’m in contact with them weekly to look at anything that needs to be addressed. We are on schedule however with our weed control and fertilization programs.
This month we also started with our annual mosquito control around the pool, playground area, and tennis courts. Our contractor will spray once a week every Thursday through Labor Day weekend.
As always, if you see something or have a concern, please feel free to let me know.
Pool

Pool season is in full swing and I am proud to say the filter/mechanical issues we had earlier in the season are a thing of the past. All seems to be running smooth at the moment, aside from the abundance of rain we have seen forcing us to close early on numerous occasions!
As we mentioned in our prior communication, pool house renovation discussions are continuing. In fact, since our last update, we have hired Gillespie Design Group to assist with the project. Gillespie is one of handful of architecture firms on the State of Illinois approved list for swimming pool facility design. Their task at present time is to outline three options which we will share with the community in the coming weeks. These proposals range from simply remodeling the existing layout of the structure, to adding a family bathroom and redesigning the entry way with direct access to the pool without having to walk thru the bathrooms. We will certainly be communicating more on this project when we have ideas to share. Stay tuned!
Last, simply a reminder on a few pool policies: Drinks and food products must be kept 4 feet away from the pool so please no drinking while in the pool or setting drinks/food on the gutter as you enjoy a refreshing dip. And lastly, no GLASS containers are allowed on the pool deck.
The pool hours are posted on the Fox Point website (https://foxpointorg.wpengine.com/fox-point-pool/). For updates throughout the day regarding weather or un-expected closures, please stay tuned via NextDoor.
Happy Swimming!
