President’s Letter

We are less than 90 days away from the opening of the 2020 pool season in Fox Point and things are progressing quite nicely with the pool house renovation. While you currently don’t see much progress on the exterior of the facility, the inside of the structure looks completely different. The project is on track and scheduled to be finished on-time. Let’s hope for a warm and sunny Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the grand opening of our new pool house complex. Thank you to all that have worked so hard on the project!!
Your new board of directors are moving full speed ahead on their planning for 2020. Plans are moving ahead for social events, the opening of the pool in late May, coordination of capital projects for the summer of 2020 and working with the landscape contractor in our common ground’s arena. We will be stocking Lake Louise with new fish while at the same time working to pull unwanted carp from the belly of our waters. This is the busy time of the year for the board as we are full swing with our planning for the coming year.
If you are traveling for spring break this year, please remember to let the Barrington Police Department know the dates you will be gone and they will keep an eye on your house in your absence.
Please remember there is an important referendum on the ballot in March and the Barrington community needs everyone to engage in the process. Please remember to get out and vote!!
Enjoy March!! Spring is almost here….
Mike

Immediately preceding the February FPHA Board Meeting, we hosted Barrington District 220 Board of Education representatives, Penny Kazimer/President and Sandra Bradford (also a FP resident) for an information session about the upcoming school referendum.
Approximately 20 homeowners attended to learn more about the components of the referendum from the Board of Education members and to ask questions.
They addressed the concerns voiced regarding the 2019 Referendum that failed, which included potential enhancements to the traffic flow (for safety reasons) at the Station-Lines campus. These projects are NOT included in the 2020 Referendum, as they were de-prioritized as a part of a lower overall referendum amount.
Kazimer and Brandford shared that the Referendum if passed, would in fact net homeowners a decrease in taxes vs. current school bonds. And, they shared statistics from neighboring districts regarding taxes for schools. Barrington has some of the lowest taxes in the area for school bond expenses.
Fox Point Homeowners are encouraged to VOTE on Tuesday March 17th!

The pool house renovation is moving along slightly ahead of schedule and will be complete this spring as planned. In the meantime, we are gathering information for the 2020 pool calendar.
If you have prior experience with the Fox Point pool and/or if you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please drop me a note. You can help make this summertime amenity more useful and meaningful to this neighborhood.
Tennis
By Mark Johnson | Email
In the middle of March, I am meeting with Dana from First Serve Management Company with Christine Mickey’s support to begin planning the Fox Point summer tennis lessons and cardio tennis classes for upcoming summer. We’ll send out more details when they become available in April and May.
We’re also hopeful to have a new method for collecting enrollments into the various programs and move away from paper! More to come once plans are confirmed and finalized.
