Fox Point Update: November 2026 Edition

  • On October 28, 2026

President’s Letter

By Andrew Schwarz | Email

This year has truly flown by and the Board remains hard at work to bring this year’s activities to a close.

The pool has been prepped for winter, the tennis courts will soon close, the lake is growing more dormant… all part of the beauty of the changing seasons in our neighborhood.  The seawall project at the Boat Landings remains in permitting and bidding, with a chance that it gets installed before year-end.

Behind the scenes, the Board has been contemplating 2027 budget needs and will present findings and recommendations to the Fox Point Finance Committee (made up of former Board Members and Finance Chairs).  More information on our budget and assessments will be shared in future newsletters.

Finally, we appreciate the individuals who have offered to run for our three empty Board seats in 2027, Civics, Safety, and Common Grounds.  If you have any interest or questions on this, please reach out to me.  Nominations will be shared in December, and elections will take place in conjunction with our January annual meeting.  Our next Board meeting will take place on Monday November 16th at 7pm at the Village Church.

Hope everyone had a good Halloween, and may I be the first to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.  What a blessing it is to call Fox Point home!

We could not have had better weather for our annual golf outing this past weekend.  We had 57 neighbors out for some friendly competition.  Congratulations to Team Bogaerts with their win at -12.  Thank you to Butch Hansen who helped me plan this year’s event.  Shout out to the rest of my ladies’ team – it is now officially my mission to get more ladies out there next year!

The Barrington Plein Air Art Competition was just held in October. How exciting that the first and second place pictures were painted right here in Fox Point! What a fun recognition of our neighborhood and congratulations to both artists on their work!

2nd Place: John Markese, “Canoe Launch”

Safety and Welfare Report

By Greg Salter | Email

It is wonderful to see so many Fox Pointers out and about late into the Fall season! It is always a bit of a shock to the system when the clock moves back and it becomes dark out so early, so I wanted to share a refresher on roadway safety:

  • When we are walking or running, walk against traffic (on the left side of the road): facing oncoming cars allows you to see vehicles approaching and gives you the opportunity to step further off the pavement if a driver doesn’t see you.
  • When we are biking, bike with traffic (on the right side of the road): drivers expect all wheeled traffic to move in the same direction. Riding against traffic is dangerous because drivers turning at intersections or pulling out of driveways are less likely to see fast-moving objects coming from the “wrong” direction.
  • When driving, stick to the 25 MPH speed limit, and slow down further when you see pedestrian or bicycle traffic. Take your time by leaving home 30 seconds earlier or arriving home 30 seconds later to keep our streets as the quiet, relaxed space we all love.
  • Use reflective gear, flashlights, headlamps, light-up leashes, and other safety equipment when walking in the dark or at dusk. Do not hesitate to step up onto the curb and grass if needed when vehicles are approaching.

Tennis Report

By Jordan Linville | Email

Sad, but it is almost that time. The nets and windscreens will be coming down. It is scheduled for the week of November 16th. I’m not sure exactly when it will be that week but if there’s no snow we will leave the pickleball nets up as late as we can. The tennis nets and wind screens will be down.

Thanks for a great season on the courts!
