President’s Letter

It’s hard to believe we are now in August! Although school is right around the corner we’ve still got a few weeks of summer left, and lots happening throughout Fox Point. I hope everyone has been enjoying the pool, tennis courts, and other neighborhood amenities along with the many events and activities our various committees have been hard at work planning over the past few months.
Looking forward to meeting our new residents at the Welcome Party on August 17.

Please contact me if you have any changes to your contact information or have recently moved into the neighborhood. Once the directory is finalized, it will be available at the pool house. Please take one per household. Thanks!

Calling all new neighbors! Please join us on Sunday, August 17 from 1:00 – 3:00 at the pool for refreshments and social. Hope you can make it! RSVP to Civic@foxpoint.org by August 14th.
Update and Road Closures on CN Railroad Project:
Starting Aug. 4th, Route 14 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Valencia Avenue and Hough Street to connect the temporary roadway. Access to adjacent roads and driveways will remain open.
Temporary FULL Route 14 Closure (Anticipated as early as Sept. 15): A temporary full closure of Route 14 is required for approximately four weeks so CN can complete the temporary railroad tracks and shift train traffic. A detour will be signed along Lake Cook Road and Hough Street. For more information, please go to https://us14underpass.com/about/.

It is hard to believe that the start of school is only a few weeks away! With more and more kids set to be out on the roads over the next few weeks, please, please, please remember to slow down. The farthest distance from one of the Fox Point entrances to any home in the neighborhood is just under 1.0 miles. Please leave 20 seconds earlier or arrive home 20 seconds later and follow the speed limit so everyone else can get home safely.
Also, please remember that Lines and Station drop offs on Oak Ridge Circle are not permitted. The Barrington Police will be continuing to patrol the area on school days.

Pool Report

We’re in the height of the season at the pool and as you enjoy these lazy days of summer, please continue to be kind and considerate of each other – your neighbors and the pool staff. If there is any behavior or activity that you see that is unusual or unsafe, please report it to a lifeguard, neighbor or me (pool@foxpoint.org). We are a stronger neighborhood when we communicate and treat each other with respect. Here’s a rundown of things happening at the pool.
Swim Team
The season wrapped up on July 15, as Fox Point hosted the top swimmers from all 5 clubs at the Swim Club Championship meet. Thank you to the coaches, parents, swimmers and lifeguards for a fun and competitive swim experience.
Swim lessons
The little swimmers and future Dolphins also concluded with the end of the swim team season. Thank you to our swim team coaches and all parents that participated in this popular program
AM Lap Swim
Master’s hosted morning lap swim will continue on until the pool closes on Labor Day weekend. Just show up and jump in, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 6:00AM to 7:30AM.
The 4th of July Pool Games
Thank you to all that came out to celebrate and enjoy this event. And special thanks to our neighborhood event organizers Wendy Ehlert, Michelle Minor and Jenny Kloss. It was a fun time for the kids and families.
Omnify
Our pool continues to be a great place to host a birthday, team party or special event gathering for this neighborhood. If you are interested in renting an awning to host your pool party, go to https://foxpoint.getomnify.com, to reserve your spot.
Guest Fee Billing Update
Please note that we are making a change to the way we are billing and requesting payment for guest fees. You will receive one bill at the end of the season for the Guest Fees accumulated for the season, instead of the day of entry email invoices. We are moving to this to help cut down on the clutter of emails and consolidate your pool guest fees to just one. Please note that awning rentals are paid at the time of reservation and that process will not change.

Get excited! It is time for our 2025 FP Pickleball tournament!
ALL skill levels are welcome. Once you receive your match pairing, you can play at any time conducive to both teams. We will publicize the date/time of the semifinals and finals in case people want to watch.
Note: your partner does not have to be your spouse/significant other.
Fox Point Pickleball Tourney 2025
Youth tennis lessons have concluded for the summer! Great job to all the kids that persevered through some hot lesson days and thank you to the Barrington Area Tennis Association for another round of lessons.
A few court reminders:
- There is currently no reservation system for the tennis and pickleball courts. Please limit play to one hour if others are waiting.
- No bicycles, scooters, roller blades, skateboards, etc. are allowed on the courts.
- Please be kind to the pickleball nets. Be gentle when moving them and please do not sit or put pressure on the net system.
