President’s Letter

Great to see all the activity in FP this past month! You will read in our treasurer Kyle’s report, that the “can do” spirit is alive and well with the completion of the grill project! It was wonderful to see so many men, women, and children volunteering to make Fox Point the real prize of 60010! Bravo to that good energy that we see with many of our neighbors!
You will also notice so many of our neighbor’s building projects beginning this spring! Andrew, our architecture lead, has been working with so many neighbors to keep their projects in line with the integrity of the neighborhood, which is the right spirit while enhancing your properties here in FP – well done all! Good work toward our future social activities, pool and tennis programming, and the activities our other board leaders are working on making these spring months a busy time for the board.
I must say so many of our neighbors are seeing this action on behalf of OUR neighborhood, and have stopped me to say thanks, a kind gesture to share from the best neighborhood around! Enjoy May and all the craziness this wonderful month brings to us all!

Thank you for your help!

With the pool season approaching, your Homeowner’s Association Board is thrilled to announce that the grill project is complete! There are now two grills on the north side of the pool house. We might be adding additional landscaping to soften the look from the streetside. Both grills have a safety gas timer inside the doors on the right side. These timers need to be started before the grills will ignite. All gates will remain locked during normal pool hours. The grills can be accessed through the pool house. Rules are posted near the new patio, and anyone interested in using the grill will need to supply their own grilling tools. We kindly ask that you dispose of garbage in the bins nearby and clean up the grill once done so your neighbors can get right on to grilling. A special thank you to everyone who helped bring us across the finish line with this project! Here are some pictures of the community project, which saved the HOA thousands:

Fox Point Senior Car Parade
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The 5th annual Fox Point Senior Car Parade is taking place on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30 pm.
If you are home be sure to gather at the ends of your driveways with bells and whistles to congratulate our graduating Fox Point high school seniors! As in recent years, the parade route will encompass Fox Point North, starting at the boat docks. We are working on securing representatives from the Barrington Fire Department and Police Department to lead the parade. Additional parade route details will be posted soon.
Parents of graduating seniors – If you haven’t filled out the interest form, email Kim Richmond at kimrichmond228@gmail.com. We ask you to meet at the boat docks once again with your vehicle decorated in your post high-school plans regalia. In the coming weeks, Kim will provide participants with more details regarding meeting time and the parade route.

Food Drive: Students from the Village Church of Barrington will be collecting food items to donate to Faith Acres food pantry serving families in Lake & McHenry Counties. Fox Point has been invited to participate in this collection effort. Food collection bags will be distributed on Tuesday, June 4th, and picked up on Thursday, June 6th. (Simply leave the filled bags by your front door.) Pantry staples are needed such as pasta, rice, cake/muffin mixes, beans, etc. – however, no canned vegetables, please.
While we are enjoying the outdoor activities the warmer temperatures and longer days of spring bring, let us also help reduce the opportunity for residential theft by participating in the “9 PM Routine”. Be sure to remove valuables from your cars, lock your house and car doors, and turn on lights. And remember “See Something, Say Something”. Let’s work together to keep our neighborhood safe this summer!
Here are some of the activities happening in Barrington this May. Hope to see you there!
- Mother’s Day Run – Celebrate the 15th annual Mother’s Day 5k Run/Walk. Sunday, May 12
- Barrington Art Festival – 125 Juried Artists, Kid’s Activities & Live Music! May 25 & 26
- Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony – Honor our Veterans. Monday, May 27 at 10:30
Common Grounds

Spring is officially here and the grounds department has been hard at work. I’m excited to announce that we have already made landscaping renovations around the neighborhood. The pool has had additional screening installed on the northwest corner as well as an overhaul of the monument wall on the Coldspring entrance. We have revamped the appearance of the Fox Hunt Trail and Oxbow cul-de-sacs as well.
Late this spring we will start to bid out and plan for the Lake Cook Road fence replacement project that is planned for 2025. Homeowners who share this fence line will receive communication next month regarding the next steps for this. I would also like to remind everyone that the Village of Barrington has scheduled the chipper to come through in the next few weeks. Monday, May 6th the north side of Lake Cook Rd. will have a chipper come through followed by the south side on May 13th. You just need to neatly stack your branches with a diameter no larger than 10” and a length at a minimum of 4’ by the curb.
Safety & Welfare

As the weather improves and more people are out walking, jogging and biking, it has been very refreshing to see everyone respecting the speed limit, staying off their phones and being cognizant of kids and adults out on the road. Thank you for helping to keep Fox Point safe!
On a related note, please remember that when driving from North Valley and turning onto Fox Hunt Trail, vehicles traveling south from the Fox Hunt Trail cul-de-sac have the right of way. While there is no road signage at this intersection, drivers turning from Valley are required to yield per Illinois traffic law (and even more importantly, for the safety of those driving on Fox Hunt Trail).
We are still awaiting a date for the road work to commence on Lake Shore Drive North between North Valley and Oxbow. The Village will communicate more detailed timing in one of its bi-weekly email blasts. Residents that live on LSDN within this area will receive a letter from the Village with further details approximately one week before construction commences.
Lake Report

Boats are on the lake again! Be safe, boat with someone, use a life vest, and check for drain plugs before putting your boat in the water!
Last chance to keep your boat rack spot for 2024. Thank you to the many who have emailed me already. To those who have not, please email lake@foxpoint.org your name and spot number and a brief description of your boat. Fees will be assessed and sent out via email later in the spring ($100).
We are proud to announce the small pond on the south side has been stocked this month with 100 large out bass 450 bluegill/sunfish hybrids, and 100 channel catfish. Fishing has been good so come down to the lake!
Carp removal will be conducted by the Lake County Health Department this spring as part of a multiyear carp mitigation project. Carp removal will provide data for the health department to further study carp populations in Lake County. This project represents substantial cost savings to the Association and a 65% savings. A carp barrier is planned to be installed in the fall or next spring.
The Lake committee meeting will be held again on the second Monday of the month via Google Meet.

Pool Report
By Chris Chang | Email
We are days away from filling the pool and turning on the pumps to bring life back to our pool. We are in need of lifeguards. You may have seen the signs posted around the neighborhood by our pool management company, Chicagoland Pool. Please spread the word about the summer job opportunities at our pool. Contact Laura Clark at 630-689-9999 or email laura.clark@chicagoland-pmg.com or go directly to https://www.chicagoland-pmg.com/lifeguard-jobs.
Registration for swim lessons will open on May 4th weekend. Swim lessons will run for 6 weeks from Jun 3 through July 13 and follow a similar schedule to prior years with 3 classes; Tue/Thu, Mon/Wed/Fri, and Sat classes. You will need an Omnify profile to log in and register for these swim lesson classes.
Awning Rentals will open for reserving on the Omnify website the weekend of May 11th.
In the coming weeks, we are reviewing the member listings on Omnify. It is important to the safety and security of our neighborhood that only authorized residents, family, and visiting guests enter our pool. This year we are requiring all adults and children who will be attending without a parent to add a photo to their Omnify profile accounts. Please help enhance the safety of our pool by adding your photos to your Omnify profiles and family member profiles.
HOA dues and any prior year outstanding balances in Omnify should be paid before attending the pool or any Fox Point events. We will be sending out emails in the next 2 weeks notifying residents of unpaid pool guest fees or awning rentals from 2023. You can also search your email Inbox for any emails from: bookings@omnify-mail.com and pay immediately. Please use the emails to make payment online or you will receive another email when we go through all the records from last year.
