President’s Letter

It is one of the most beautiful times of the year in Fox Point as we enter the fall season. It is a great time to get out and explore the neighborhood, see the vibrant colors of fall, and meet many of the new neighbors that have recently called Fox Point their home.
As a board we are winding down our busy spring & summer season and begin the process planning and budgeting for the 2019 year. We continue to stress fiscal responsibility within our yearly budgeting while at the same time work to ensure that our assets are maintained & our neighborhood remains one of the favorite neighborhoods within the northwest suburbs.
I want to thank all the folks that continue to make driving safely and slowly throughout our neighborhood a PRIORITY!! It is very evident that neighbors are really focusing on their speeds as the enter and exit the neighborhood. Kudos to all!!
I also want to thank all the board members that have worked tirelessly on various events or committees throughout 2018!! Whether quietly working on the finances of the neighborhood, managing the pool, keeping up with the social calendar, maintaining our common areas, our website, our newsletter, our tennis courts, our safety committees, our lake or any of the other numerous tasks that go into making our association run well, your efforts are very much appreciated.
Halloween is right around the corner and yet another monumental time of the year in Fox Point. This has always been one of those days in which Fox Point comes together as a true community. Enjoy the day as we all get out, socialize with our neighbors and see the incredible smiles on the many kids as they roam the neighborhood in search of that perfect piece of candy. Be safe as it starts to get dark earlier especially on Halloween!!

The Nominating Committee finds potential candidates for the 2019 Fox Point Board election, solidifies candidate list, gathers candidates bios and might help with the election. This is a fun and easy way to get involved in the neighborhood!

The Fox Point vs. Biltmore Country Club tennis match was a huge success. It was an evening filled with good friends, food and fun! Fox Point did loose the trophy to Biltmore but we plan to win it back next year! Huge thanks to the Jankowski family for helping to plan this amazing event!
Please continue to enjoy the Fox Point tennis Courts this fall. The courts will remain open until late October or early November depending on the weather. See you on the courts!

Golf Outing Update
Thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s annual Fox Point golf outing at Makray Memorial Golf Club! We had great weather for the event which made for a great day! 42 Fox Pointers enjoyed 9 or 18 holes of golf followed by a buffet dinner and drinks on the patio. Congratulations to our winners who each took home their very own personalized Fox Point Yeti! Huge thanks to the Brian Mickey family for planning this event!
Pool

FP neighbors! While it may not be quite pool weather, I hope you have all been able to get out and enjoy this fantastic fall weather! If you happen to stroll by the pool, you will realize we have yet to drain or winterize the facility. After having spent the season fighting with the filtration system, we have been working out some bugs to avoid any surprises next season. We will be draining and winterizing the facility in the next few days as the tests are near complete.
As previously outlined (in nearly every newsletter this year), we have been progressing our discussions on the pool house renovation. We continue to narrow the discussion, we will be reaching out with some concrete design and expense projections. All I can say is to stay patient with us and know we will move forward in a path that represents the community as a whole.
I mentioned in our last letter that the pool management contract is up for bid this year. We are reviewing our options for the next few year and will communicate our path forward in the coming months.
Lastly, I would like to thank our Swim Team chairs Tammy Kerr, Doreen Muhs and Kim Richmond for all their time and effort these past years. It is certainly a commitment, if not a full time job, in season and deserves recognition. We have had 5 new families step up and ask to lead the team in the years to come. The Board agreed the time was right for the next set of volunteers to take on a larger role. It’s one of the great things about our neighborhood, the next person up mentality. Please help me welcome Jen Fleming, Jen Livingston, Jenny Postma, Kristen Cannon and Victoria Sivrais as the new Swim Team Chairs. They certainly have some large shoes to fill, but we know the transition will be seamless.
I wish you all the best this fall and should you have any questions on the pool facility or changes you would like to see in 2019, please let me know!
