Fox Point Update: June 2021 Edition

President’s Letter
By Margaret Graff | Email
As you read this report, summer in Fox Point will be in full swing.
POOL’s OPEN! (Two of my favorite words as a Fox Point resident of 10+ years). As many of you know this is not an easy task in ANY year for your volunteer board members. And this year, extra kudos go to Pool Chair Criss Chang. He has been working tirelessly since February on our pool re-opening plan—which includes oversight of regular maintenance, fixing a few “winter surprises”, communicating with Pool Watch, and managing ever-changing IDPH Guidance on COVID protocols for pools. We as a board-approved an amended FP open plan at our May Board meeting—and it has evolved about 2 more times since. Criss will continue to inform the board and neighbors of updates —and we will continue to evolve rules and policies as possible.
Common Grounds Chair, Jay Roberts has been busily overseeing our landscaper, mosquito sprayers, etc. to keep our grounds well maintained.
Rena and her social committee planned our 2nd annual FP High School Graduate Car Parade on May 24th in partnership with the Barrington Police Department. What a special way for the whole neighborhood to recognize and celebrate our Class of 2021 graduates!
Behind the scenes, Civics Chair Mark Villalovos has also been working to keep foxpoint.org updated and post FP happenings on our FPHA social channels.
I continue to welcome feedback, questions, and outreach from neighbors about our beloved Fox Point. And please consider joining our monthly FPHA board meetings via Zoom – the next one is Monday, June 21st at 7 pm.
I look forward to seeing many of you out and about this summer!

Congratulations to all the Class of 2021 High School Graduates!
We celebrated our Fox Point seniors on Monday 5/24 with a neighborhood car parade led by Barrington’s Finest. Thank you so much to Margot Cidulka, Dympna Coll, and Melissa Paris for organizing this year’s event! Letter the Lawn provided fabulous signage at the pool (donated by Melissa) & Dr. Coll donated all the balloons for the senior houses. Thank you all again for a great turnout and best of luck to all our graduates!
Fox Point Movie Night
Our first movie night at the courts will be on Friday, June 25th! Our first feature will be Rookie of the Year – the tentative time is 7:30 pm. Details to follow. Sign-up via signup genius

The pool opened Memorial Day weekend despite the lower than expected temperatures. The baby pool received a fresh new coat of paint last month and we’re ready for warmer days ahead. Here’s a reminder of some important information regarding the pool rules and current policies.
Open Swim Sessions
Reservations for advance bookings of pool sessions are available for Friday-Sunday and Holidays. Go to the Omnify reservation booking system to add profiles for family members and all guests (i.e. grandchildren, children, parents, and grandparents of residents, nannies, and live-in house guests.) Avoid delays and long waits at check-in by adding guests as family members to your profile in advance and use the QR code at the front desk for a speedy self-check-in.
- Go to foxpoint.getomnify.com and create your profile and add family members and guests
- For instructions on how to set up a profile, add family members, and book a reservation on the Fox Point Omnify site, please click to view the quick pdf guide here.
- PLEASE READ THIS – Pool policies and procedures can be found at this link here.

By Mark Johnson | Email
Hi all,
I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather that we’ve experienced over the last couple of weeks!
Just a couple of quick reminders – the adult and junior tennis programs begin the week of June 7th and will continue into the month of August.
If you have interest but haven’t yet signed up – there still may be open opportunities, so click here to register.
Pickleball!?!?!
Please look for an update on NextDoor over the next couple of weeks if you’re interested in signing up for our first Fox Point Pickleball tournament that will be hosted by our tennis service, First Serve. Our goal is to schedule this one-day tournament, the weekend of July 10th. More to come.
Have a great June everyone!

Greetings Fox Point neighbors. A couple of reminders this month. First, if you haven’t done so, please light your front yard lamps. Second, remember with increased foot and bike traffic on our streets for the summer months, drivers please take your time and slow down.
Thank you, Abe

June is here and let me be among the first to wish all our Fox Point DADS a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! I hope you are extra spoiled and get to enjoy a day exactly the way you like it.
Gathering restrictions are lowering as more of us get vaccinated, and the weather is perfect for celebrating with family, friends, and neighbors. Planning a neighbor outing? Search Barrington Events where you’ll find tons of local things to do like scheduled Live Music, Goat Yoga, and Classic Car Shows.
Please continue to celebrate responsibly and be mindful of those neighbors around you who might need you to wear a mask around them for their safety.

Hi Everyone!
Lots of activity last month as we continue to investigate options to address our Fox Point monument walls. We’ve had a couple of quality contractors perform inspections and share ideas on potential solutions. Please stay tuned as we will share as we learn more.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
