It is almost unimaginable that the summer is coming to a close yet the beauty of fall is almost upon us. Fall is a beautiful time in Fox Point as the leaves begin to change & the weather has that coolness that drives us all outside to enjoy what is typically perfect weather.
We have had tremendous success with the pool this summer despite the many challenges. The new pool house has been well received and there is still more to come as we finish a few last-minute details on the project this fall. Many thanks to Criss and the team at the pool for managing through a very unique time frame. To my knowledge, we didn’t have any COVID related issues at the pool thus far but we still have a few weeks to go in the season. Due to the late start on the opening, we will be extending the pool season as long as the weather allows and as long as folks are continuing to enjoy it. It will be fairly short notice as we decide to close it but we will be sure to notify everyone on Nextdoor.
Speaking of Nextdoor and Facebook, have you signed up for Nextdoor or joined the Fox Point Facebook page?? Please connect the next time you are online and virtually join our community. Both are exceptional ways to stay connected to Fox Point.
It is that time of year when we start to plan for next year. The board is currently busy trying to formulate the budget for next year as well as the game plan for next year’s activities. We are also in need of a few new board members if anyone has an interest in joining our team. I believe we have 2-3 spots available as a couple of us are retiring this year after many years of service. It is time for some new blood and new ideas as we migrate out of this very unpredictable time. If you have an interest in joining or would like additional information, please let Lynn or myself know.
This summer has been very challenging for all and I know that good news is on the horizon!! Stay positive, be kind, say hello to folks as you walk throughout Fox Point, and help your fellow neighbor and we will all get through these very challenging times together!!

Architecture
By Bruce Kukowski | Email
Great to see the neighborhood so active this summer with many Fox Point homeowners doing exterior remodeling of their homes, replacing driveways, walkways, patios and updating their landscaping. I really appreciate all the homeowners that have submitted architecture applications this year for board review and approval.
Just want to reach out again to remind homeowners that some of these exterior construction and landscape projects will require the approval by the Fox Point HOA board and some of these projects may not require board approval. Before starting any construction planning or work, it’s important to look at the Fox Point website Architecture Guidelines https://foxpointorg.wpengine.com/architecture-design-guidelines/ to see if your exterior project requires approval from the Fox Point HOA board and to check with the Village of Barrington, Development Services Department about permits and zoning ordinances as well.
As a resource, you can contact me to discuss your exterior project relative to our Fox Point Bylaws and contact the Village of Barrington, Development Services department. ph:847-304-3460.
NOTE: Items listed with an asterisk (*) require a permit from the Village of Barrington before work can proceed.

Hi Everyone!
If you read my report from last month, then you know we’ve decided to take a step back with the monument walls. There is still hope that completion or some type of modification will still take place this year. As of now, I’m starting over a bit to look at all of our options. We could keep the same structure as is, modify from this existing structure, or go to a completely different material and design. I think we should choose a strategy that will protect the walls long term but also requires limited maintenance.
For the next several weeks, I will be collecting information along with the bids from different vendors. I hope to share some of that information next month. I will continue to give updates each month as I learn more.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Stay safe!

Pollinator Garden Install Complete
It was amazing how many people showed up on Saturday, August 22 to help create our pollinator garden in the boat dock area. We had over 30 people come out to lend a hand which made it pretty easy to get completed before the heat of the day came into play. A big thank you to the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club (led by Jennifer Lucas, Sue Lenz, and Kristine Young) for funding the project and especially Dave Eubanks from Eubanks Environmental who donates his time to design the flower beds for us.
We planted approximately 200 native plants in two flower beds by the east entrance to the lake that will attract butterflies and bees and create a natural beauty to the area. Hope everyone enjoys it and again thank you to The Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club and Dave Eubanks. Without them, this would not have been possible.
Boat Dock Storage System
As of August 23, our contractor has completed about 60% of the repairs identified to the boat storage rack system with completion anticipated before the posting of this newsletter. With the repairs, we should have a few more slots open so please do not just place any new boats into an empty location without reaching out to me first. We currently have a waiting list for available slots and by registering with me this allows us to track which boats are currently being used or if they have been abandoned. Please contact me if you have an inquiry about space or any other questions.
Please get out and enjoy the lake before summer is over.
Pool
By Criss Chang | Email
Good news! We are going to hang on to summer a little longer by keeping the pool open beyond Labor Day this year. Due to a number of factors, including a late start to the pool season and the cancelation of many extracurricular activities, the pool will remain open from Friday to Sunday for Fox Point residents from September 11 to the 27th. Please check the Omnify online calendar for times and to make reservations.
Thank you, neighbors, for your care and patience in dealing with the new measures implemented this season. Please continue to take the necessary health and safety precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, and maintain social distancing. And let the pool staff know their efforts are noticed. They have been so diligent in their constant efforts to clean and sanitize these past few months. Be safe and enjoy these last days of summer.
Safety & Welfare

Hi Neighbors-
As a board, we are actively researching and discussing security measures and enhancements to help keep our neighborhood safe. Please continue to be diligent with personal safety precautions (i.e. ensure car doors are locked, keep gas lamps lit, etc). As always, we remind you to report suspicious activity directly to the police.

Tennis
By Mark Johnson | Email
Hi Neighbors,
The 2020 tennis lesson sessions have concluded after a very successful summer. When the summer began, we didn’t know what the program would look like – both in terms of whether lessons would take place – and how many would participate. Well, the Fox Point community rose up with confidence the sessions would be safe – as well as recognizing the great opportunity for parents to get themselves and their children engaged in a wonderful activity. Thanks to everyone that signed up!
Some personal anecdotes – My wife Jodi participated in the Tuesday and Wednesday cardio tennis sessions and the Wednesday group continues to meet on their own to keep it rolling. My daughter found a fun activity with some of the other kids by playing tennis and bouncing to the playground to mix things up to have fun. The courts will still be available into October, so I highly recommend that you take advantage of the courts for exercise and a great social opportunity. I drove by the courts this morning (Sunday, 8/23) and saw our men’s group out with their weekly doubles’ groups – awesome, keep it going!
I hope everyone enjoys the remaining beautiful days and take advantage of all the wonderful amenities offered through our community.
Cheers!
